Information Of Kamala Beach

Approximately two kms in length, quiet and not too crowded, Kamala Beach is a Muslim fishing village set amidst coconut trees, on the north of Patong. The northern end of the beach is nicer for swimming. At the same time you can enjoy seeing traditional scenes of fishermen tossing their nylon nets into the surf.

The beach has a varied selection of accommodations ranging from guesthouse to international class, and a number of small Thai restaurants specializing in succulent seafood. During the daytime regular bus service to Kamala Beach is available, or you can go by tuk-tuk service to Patong and Kamala Beach is only 7 kms away on the new road.

If relaxation in a small seaside community is what you're after, you'll find Kamala a delight. Located on Phuket's west coast, just north of Patong, it's less hectic that its neighbour. Formerly a quiet, fishing village, Kamala is a beautiful spot in which to relax and enjoy the still peaceful village atmosphere of this scenic, unspoiled beach.

The area behind the beach has developed over the last few years giving a greater choice of local places to eat and drink. More secluded resorts nestle higher up amongst the trees on the headland, capitalising on the wonderful sea and mountain views, and only a few minutes walk to a sandy white beach on the northern end.
